The Albany Partnership for Housing and Community Development (APHCD) is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that develops and maintains affordable housing for households who cannot compete for market rate shelter. In its housing development activities, the organization fosters public and private sector partnerships and works to enhance the community’s economic base.
APHCD was formed in 1991 by a small group of concerned local citizens to address the shelter needs of low-income families and individuals in Albany. We now own and manage 138 units of affordable housing in five neighborhoods, providing housing to approximately 400 residents. Just about half of our residents are children.
The Partnerships’ Board of Directors is made up of local citizens and community leaders committed to keeping our properties affordable, safe, and attractive for the community we serve.
Our Mission: to improve the lives of citizens in need through affordable housing and supportive services.
